Create one headline for an article about the SCC Advertising Program, targeted to local graduating high school students.
“Join this award winning program to learn skills that employers are looking for today!”
I think our program has a lot of factors to it that can help sell it to a graduating high school student and when you’re making a headline like this, I think it’s important to take into account what a high school student and their parents are looking for when they’re looking at programs to take during their post-secondary education, the first being that they want to be sure that the program is going to translate into a well paying career after they graduate from the program, and in order to do that they need something that will prove to them that the program has the proper credibility to translate into success in that career path in the future, and that’s precisely why I included the part about the program being “award-winning”, when a high school student or their parent sees that the program has won awards, it will tell them that this is a successful program that is good at what they do and what they teach.
Now there are a lot more factors about this program, like the hiring rate, or the type of awards they’ve won, or the fact that the program is taught by industry professionals that have years of experience but you obviously can’t include all that information in the headline because you want to keep it short and readable, so you would include that information in the content and the job of the headline is to intrigue the reader into reading the article and getting that information.
I think not naming the program in the headline is important for a few reasons, first of all, our program is very wordy and has too many characters to include in the headline and will make the headline way too long, and I also think keeping the program secret gives the reader a sense of curiosity and could lead them to clicking the article and eventually getting all that important information that will be in the content that I mentioned earlier.
