One of the most difficult aspects of applying the F Pattern was figuring out what information was the most important and which information to put at the top of the F which is most read part of the F, I ultimately decided to put a sort of sales pitch and some branding like a slogan at the top of the F which meant I wasn’t putting what I felt like was the important part of the post at the top of the F, that being the various services that we offer, so I decided to find a work around to that by including the services in a point form list in the middle of the post, that will also be on the left side of the screen which is where readers eyes will gravitate to, putting them in a list will allow for the list to stick out to the reader while they are scanning through the post to find what they are looking for and what will be useful to them.
I think one of the main challenges of writing in plain english is making sure that you aren’t trying to dumb down your grammar or trying to make the audience feel dumb, which is why I just made sure to simply not use complicated words and to focus more on the length of what I was writing so that I could keep things short and easy to read for anyone at any reading level, especially for the business i’m writing for because it’s the type of business where you will encounter customers of all sorts of backgrounds who will have different reading levels.
